How Citadel uses AI
Citadel uses AI mainly to speed up research. Its in-house Citadel AI Assistant summarises filings, transcripts and broker research for equity investors, and the firm says nearly all of them use it without a mandate. Founder Ken Griffin has said AI agents now do some finance research in hours or days that once took specialists weeks.

Tamarly Research conclusion
Citadel's reported AI use centres on research speed: its internal assistant digests filings, transcripts and broker research, and close to all of its stock-picking teams use it without being required to. Ken Griffin has said agents now finish some research in hours or days that took specialists weeks, while also saying in October 2025 that generative AI falls short for uncovering alpha. On the public record, AI at Citadel speeds up analysts' work rather than making investment decisions.
